dancing with the devil cuphead fanfiction continuation: explanation notes

As of right now, I'm considering continuing dancing with the devil since it's been abandoned for about a year after being started in 2017. The original author did a lot of things I disagree with as a writer after learning about how a lot of the tropes that I used to find cute and that this author also probably finds cute or rooted in some really toxic patriarchical shit.

The story went in a lot of different directions to drag out some things but didn't go into enough detail about other things like the devil and mugman's relationship and stuff like that. There's also supposed to be some hints of cuphead and King dice, but that's not really going anywhere other than cuphead saying that dice is sexy. But what's up with people writing cuphead to be antisocial and not have any friends? Also, why is cupheads usually so depicted as being guarded about his feelings? As an adult, I realize how a lot of these tropes planned it's a very serious mental health issues that get underplayed in media. Another overplayed toxic trope is that they're in a fourth situation, so I don't even know if they want to be there if it's Stockholm syndrome at some point. There's more to life than the beauty and the beast aspect, people.

The fanfiction crowd never really changes. We write all this cringy trophy shit in our teens and  twenties but then we grow up and unlearn a lot of the toxic bullshit, but a lot of us aren't writing FanFictions anymore. I'm fine with being a fan fiction writer in my thirties. I will write until I can't write anymore!

Something that I see a lot of people doing that I like is the contents of their head having influence over their functionality. I don't like how people make water bad, though. It's like passive aggressively dissing water, and I would appreciate if you kept your dehydrated lifestyle to yourself.

For those of you who don't know, the story is about how cuphead and mugman are adults that have moved out but are really struggling paying their own bills. Elder Kettle was helping but recently cut them off and they went to the casino for some fast money because rent is due. Cuphead bets their freedom, more so than their souls, and they end up having to work for the devil for no pay, but they get a room in the casino, for a few months. So even though they're not getting paid in money, they're getting paid in room and board.

Where the story leaves off is cuphead and mugman talking about how much fun they've had and how they fall in love with their respective pairings, and how they're about to be homeless and jobless, because their contract is about to come to an end. In the last chapter that was posted in june, mugman went to go ask the devil if they can stay, but the author added in some extra characters and some bullshit that I don't care for. I'm going to pick up from the chapter before that where they're talking about how they're going to be homeless and jobless. I'm considering rewriting that chapter, as well.

I'm aiming to finish the story in 2 or 3 chapters.
