 The Matsuno family casino spa and hotel Matsuyo and Matsuzou actually own the business, inheriting it from Matsuyo's family. They made their sons work there and go to college to learn how to run a business. The Matsuno Brothers had to start a gang to be able to protect the business. They were so idiotic and haphazardly lucky in all of their encounters with larger gangs, they earned a reputation and a piece of territory. The larger gangs avoid dealing with them, knowing the tragic events that have happened to smaller gangs trying to encroach on their piece. I'm going to be honest. I know a little bit about the casino business, and it's not that great. Stories are fun to write, but knowing the reality behind some of these industries makes them not so great to write. it takes a certain type of person to function and be successful in every type of business, and I'm not drawn to the type of person it takes to run a casino. As much as I love the aesthetic, and definitely the aesthetic they applied to the osomatsu franchise, real life casino owners are worse sleeve balls and leeches than the neets the new team made the sextuplets out to be. I just need to get into the fact that I'm more down with them being gang members than I am with them being casino owners. At least gang members have a sense of community security. I watched the original series from 1966 and the reboot from 1988, and I honestly love these boys.
